Photograph of a Leonid meteor towards the bottom center, a Leonid meteor debris train toward the top center, and the northern lights in the background. On the bottom is a treeline, along with clouds above the treeline. Some of the stars from the Big Dipper are visible in the upper left part of the photograph which was taken at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2001. I could see a very, very weak display of the northern lights that morning. The skies were very cloudy at 4 a.m. that morning - thus, this is my only photograph from that event. |
