Long Time Exposure of the Northern Lights |

Photograph of the northern lights at approximately 11 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2002. Activity was minimal. The lights only look bright in this photograph because of a two minute exposure using a motor driven equatorial mount. I have never used such a technique in the past to photograph the northern lights. That why this very weak display looks somewhat bright. Photograph taken 15 miles north of Bismarck, ND. |
